choirThe Choir from Years 4,5, and 6 were out in force singing Christmas songs in El Muelle and on Las Canteras during December. They all sang beautifully and everyone got into the Christmas spirit.

missmariaMiss Maria, who has worked at Canterbury School for 33 years, retired at the end of November. We had a celebration for her at Milton House with current and past staff. We would like to thank Miss Maria for all her years working with Canterbury children and wish her all the best for a long and happy retirement!

recycling4On Tuesday 12th November, Year 6 were fortunate to receive a visit from Patricia who volunteers for the "Proyecto Gran Canaria Recicla" in the Cabildo.

santa6On Friday we had a lovely Christmas party day at Milton House! We watched the Pre-Nursery Christmas assembly first, all our little ones in Pre-Nursery were amazing and so confident at performing for us.

raquelCongratulations to Raquel Sánchez Rodriguez in Year 1B, who won third prize in the Infant category of the Guaguas Municipales art competition. Raquel attended the presentation to collect her certificate and her picture will be on the side of the yellow buses for at least 6 months! Watch out for it!

infantshow9This week the Infant Department celebrated Christmas with a wonderful show called "The Advent Calendar".

bancodealimentos2We are pleased to inform you that secondary students have donated a total of 515 kilos to the Food Bank of Las Palmas in the collection that took place on December 13. Thank you very much to all the families that have participated in the donations!

gardeningclubGardening Club had a fundraiser event on the 23rd October. The students and their parents spent time making bracelets, bookmarks, pen toppers, cakes, biscuits...etc, to sell during break time.

sponsoredwalk4On Wednesday 6th November the cast and crew involved in the production of "The Lion King" took part in a 10 km fundraising sponsored walk.

codeweek27To celebrate European Code Week, Primary students were given the opportunity to spend some of their lunchtime in the computer room using Scratch 3.0. They had a lot of fun!

printmaking 3Year 10-13 art students had a fantastic opportunity to visit a printmaking workshop run by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.

Gardening ClubThe Canterbury Gardening Club, led by Miss Zena and two Duke of Edinburgh pupils, started work last friday. Their aim is to make the school greener and in doing so, helping the environment.
