2008-2009
Estimados padres:
Dear parents, I trust you have had an enjoyable holiday. May I take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year Since the 8th of January we have started the hard work in School, in all year groups and particularly in S4,S5,S6 as these students face very important exams in a few weeks. In order to succeed in these exams it is essential that students spend a great amount of time working at home Unless it is an urgent matter, we would be grateful if lessons were not interrupted. Should you have a message for your son/daughter please tell the Main Office and one of the secretaries will make sure the message is communicated, once the lesson is finished
Once again Christmas is nearly upon us. This is such a busy time of the year that I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the dates of interest. •8th December –School is closed – Bank Holiday “Inmaculada de la Concepción” •9th December – Candles should be brought to school
•11th December – 18:30h. Mr. Harvey's choir. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We are now preparing our annual ski trip for pupils and parents.
Dear parents,
Friday, 05/12/08, No school.
FELICES FIESTAS
As so many parents would like their children to learn Chinese, we will begin another Saturday group in January. Friends who have children in the same age range but who attend other schools may also register them for the Saturday playgroup. All parents who would like their children to join the new Saturday morning Chinese play group, please inscribe their names at the office in San Lorenzo or Rubén Darío.
Dear Parents,
As our busy time of year approaches I thought you would like to know in advance the following dates:

10-10-2008 Welcome P1
Dear parents, A warm welcome to our new school year to everyone. A special warm welcome to all our new K1 pupils, the majority of whom seem happy and settled with us already. A warm welcome also to our new teachers; Miss Juliet K2C, Miss Libby K3B, Miss Claudia K3C and Miss Araceli class assistant. We would like to take this opportunity of reminding all parents about our school rules and to thank-you in advance for abiding by these:
05-10-2008 Infant department welcome.
The school is organising a Saturday morning playgroup for the pupils in Ruben Dario. The activities will be conducted by a Chinese teacher so that the children in the group will begin to have an understanding of this language. We are introducing this activity with a view to incorporating it as an optional third language which is introduced into their weekly timetable when they are older. As Chinese is vastly different from most European languages, we believe that children should have contact with it as young as possible and in the most agreeable way: all small children love to play.
Dear parents, Once again Canterbury School is offering an English Saturday School for youngsters between the ages of 5 and 16. This will take place from the 04/10/2008 to 20/06/2009 in the Primary Section of the centre in Lomo de Diviso, San Lorenzo and will be imparted by Qualified Native Teachers. During the course the students will use computers, audi visual aids and play games to stimulate their learning of the written language: also special emphasis is placed on understanding and using spoken English. The teachers of the older pupils will ensure that the requirements of the Spanish Educational system are covered and assimilated by their students.
Dear Parents We wish to inform you that from now on all School Information leaflets such as Newsletters monthly menus, mathematic programmes etc. for parents and/or tutors can be found en the School web : http://www.canterburyschool.com . New items will be published each Friday so please visit our web page every week to be well informed. If you are unable to access Internet, copies of all information sheets will be available in the secretaries’ offices. We will soon be publishing our welcoming letter with necessary information for the present course such as P.E. timetables and so on.
