2005-2006

The end of term is approaching when reports and diplomas are given out. The following is the information about parents evenings in the different departments.

In the Infant Department in Ruben Dario the reports Hill be given out on Friday 23rd June and parents are invited to come along and discuss their child’s progress between 1.00 and 15.30
In the Primary Department in San Lorenzo reports will be handed to the parents on Monday 26th June between 16:15h. and 18:30h.
In the Secondary Department for pupils in P6 to S5, parents’ evening will be on Tuesday 27th June between 4.00 and 16.30. Parents will be able to discuss their children’s progress with all their teachers for the different subjects. We look forward to seeing all the parents on these very special occasions.

We would like to invite you to attend our Prize Giving Presentation Evening, at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, 22nd
June, in the new Chaucer Theatre. This evening is to celebrate the success of pupils from P6 to S3 who have
been given prizes for their work in school during the current year. As usual, there will be refreshments
available after the presentation.
We do hope you are able to join us to help congratulate your child on the award.

El día 1 y 2 de junio 2006, 35 alumnos del Colegio Canterbury (S6) se presentarán a la Selectividad. Tras un año de muchos esfuerzos, estamos convencidos de que todos obtendrán el resultado merecido. Mucha suerte a todos.

Dear parents,
As it was stated on the school fees of this school year 2005/2006, the first payment of the next school year, will be charged in June. Therefore, if you wish to cancel the place of your daughter/son for next year, you will have to inform the office before 25th May. You may do so in person or as follows:

All pupils in Upper Sixth who intend to study careers at Spanish Universities and who have successfully achieved pass grades in their school marks will be entered for the June ‘Selectividad’ examinations. Pupils will know these marks during the second week of May. In the final week of May all those eligible will take a mock ’Selectividad’ examination at school in the same conditions as the real examination in June. The actual ‘selecitivdad’ examination will take place on the 1st and 2nd June in the UNED centre in Las Palmas. For more information please refer to circular.

On Tuesday, March 14th at 7.30 p.m., the school will celebrate its annual Certificate Evening, when pupils in S5 and S6 are congratulated on their successes in the pre-University examinations and receive their official IGCSE, AS and A level certificates. All the pupils concerned and their parents are invited to attend the event, which we are hoping to hold in the new School theatre.

SCHOOL PHOTO (17-25 OCTOBER)

As usual at this time of the year, the photographers will take individual and group photographs of all the children who will take these photos home towards the end of November. If you do not wish to purchase them, they should be returned to the school the following day. The charge for these will be added to the following month’s school bill. Please make sure that your son or daughter come to school in complete school uniform on the day the photo will be taken.

SCHOOL UNIFORM FROM MONDAY 17TH OCTOBER

From Monday 17th October all pupils in both Primary and Secondary Departments should come to school in normal school uniform. When they have P.E. they should bring their P.E. kit in a bag and change for the lesson.
