Dear Parents,
The following are the final arrangemnets for your child's camping trip.

DEPARTURE: Tuesday 21st June.

The Award Leaders at the Canterbury School would like to offer our most sincere congratulations to the sixteen members of the A level group (S6c) who have successfully completed their Bronze International Award (Duke of Edinburgh's Award). Throughout the year, the students have completed the four sections of the award (Service & volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition) with great enthusiasm and we firmly believe they have learnt a lot about themselves as well as others.

Lessons for S4 will finish on Monday 13th June. On Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th, Thursday 16th, students will be working on a year book, and on Friday 17th June they will go to Maspalomas with their tutors. Reports will be issued on Friday 17th June.

If any student already wants to be entered for any IGCSE/AS or A level in October/November, the student must contact the Head teacher, Pedro Tomas, by Friday 17th June in order to make the entry. It will possible to make entries also in September.

S3 students will face their Mock exams from Wednesday 15th of June until the 23rd. These are very important exams half way through the IGCSE course and the grades give and indication of the level the student has at this stage.

Attached you will find the itinerary for this trip. May we remind you there is a meeting this Thursday 19 May 4.15 pm in the school theatre with the parents of students interested in taking part in this trip.

Estimados padres,

Congratulations to all sixteen members of S6c who successfully completed their two day one night expedition for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award last weekend. Despite facing certain difficulties along the way, it was
particularly pleasing to witness the determination and team spirit which enabled them to reach their goal. When the going got tough, S6c got going!

We would also like to congratulate the dedicated members of staff for their time and efforts over the weekend.

Estimados padres:

S3 students will sit their Mock exams between 15th and 23th June. The grades gained in these exams will be part of next term's assessment. All S3 students must come to school those days and no student will be allowed out unless the student brings a note authorising it; in the note it must be clearly detailed who will pick up the student and at what time. During September 2011 you will receive a Mock report.

Dear Parents,

Here are some dates for your diary for the end of term…

Dear Parents,
As we informed you before, the parent’s afternoon will be on Friday 1st April 2011 from 13:00 to 16:00h. You
may see your child’s class, the work that he/she has done during this term and speak to the teacher about
his/her progress. We have organised this parent afternoon by appointments so you do not have to wait too
long. The time for your appointment is shown on the other side. We advise you to arrive 10 minutes early so
you can see your child’s work before talking to the teacher. Due to the large number of parents, we have
assigned 10 minutes per pupil. Please note that it is not possible for the time to be changed on this day as
all the appointment times have been allocated. If you are unable to attend your allocated appointment you
will need to make another appointment with the teacher for after the 1st April 2011. Please let the teacher
know about this situation as soon as possible.
On this day the teachers will be having lunch between 12:30h and 13:00h and will not see any parents
during this time. Please note that the Infant Dept. will close at 12:30h and there will not be a lunch service
on this day. Therefore all children using the school bus will be going home at this time, there will only be a
school bus at 12:30h. Please note that transfer to San Lorenzo Department service won’t be operating that
day. We remind you that the members of staff on duty will only be in the playground until 13:00h. Your child
must be collected by this time.

Snow

This is a view of the snow taken from 5B's window!!!

It's the first time we've ever seen snow so close to school!
