Top athletes at S3
Last weekend the Canarian Athletics Championship was held. Two of our S3 students, Marta Medina Vega and Eva Trujillo Millares, gained medals in various events and therefore will participate in the National Championship. Marta gained gold medals in javelin and 4x300 relay, and silver in combined events. Eva gained gold medal in 4x300 and bronze in combined events.
Mufti day at Secondary
630 kg of food collected. This amount of food has been sent to the Food Bank of Las Palmas. Thank you very much to all.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
The twenty three students involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award this academic year have successfully completed their bronze award. Orientation week S5
As part of the school's compromise with students and their parents to offer the best possible preparation for university, S5 students will take part in an orientation week in June. The week will feature a personalized visit to the University of Las Palmas, including stops at various Faculties and other premises.

Friday March 15th was Red Nose Day at school. The secondary pupils dressed in red and many of them wore red noses. to raise money for the charity Comic Relief www.comicrelief.com . A total of 491 Euros was collected and balloons and stickers were distributed to the most deserving 'dressers'.

The construction of the new Sixth Form building is almost completed and the finishing touches are now taking place. We expect the building to be in working order for the next school year. The following photographs are of the building as it is at the present moment. As well as this, work is also carrying on at the Sports Hall next to it as you can see in the photos.
Donations food bank

Mufti Day 30 April (secondary department). Students may come in street clothes so long as they bring 1 kg non-perishable food which will be then sent to the Food Bank of Las Palmas.
S6 graduation
On Friday 14 June current S6 students will graduate in a ceremony held in the school theatre. Parents are invited (see attached invitation letter)

Dear parents of P6,S1,S2,S3 students, I am writing to inform you that Parents Evening will take place on Thursday 16 May 4.15-6.30 pm. During this time you will be able to see any teacher or tutor from P6,S1,S2, or S3.

S3 students will face their end of year exams from Monday 17 of June until the 21. These are important exams half way through the IGCSE course and the grades give an indication of the level the student has at this stage.
Art workshop
Andrea López Sahun a former student who is in her 2nd year of a 3D Design degree course in Bath, England, visited the school to give a design workshop to P6 and S1 students. Andrea completed her studies at Canterbury before moving to Somerset to complete a foundation year in Art and Design. She completed the year with a distinction before gaining a place on her design course at Bath Spa University.
On Monday 22 April S, S4, S5 and S6 students will attend a talk by Red Cross representatives in order to make students aware of the importance of solidarity and cooperation with those who need help. The school and the Red Cross will propose students to take part voluntarily in the Gold Lottery (see attached files).
